ScroogeXHTML RTF Converter 11.4: Hardening, Tables and Lists

ScroogeXHTML RTF Converter 11.4 was released on 19 October 2026. It continues the hardening work of 11.3 and fixes a long list of table and list conversion issues.

• Output limits. A maximum element count and a maximum output size stop runaway conversions.
• Strict mode. Malformed RTF can now raise an error at the first structural problem instead of being repaired silently.
• Safer logs and threads. Text from the RTF document can no longer forge log entries, and parallel conversions no longer interfere through a shared XML factory.
• Tables. A malformed table no longer fails the whole conversion, and nested tables written by Word and LibreOffice keep all their rows.
• Lists. Multilevel lists from Word, TRichView and WPTools are now nested correctly.
• Speed. Very long paragraphs convert in linear time.

11.4 is tested with Java 11, 17, 21 and 25. The full list of changes is in the release notes. Subscribers can download 11.4 from the download area for registered users.
