We’ve released an update to Tiny RTF Viewer, our small, fast RTF reader for Android. This version targets Android 17 (API 37), so the app stays current with the latest platform requirements and keeps running smoothly on newer devices.
What is Tiny RTF Viewer?
Tiny RTF Viewer opens and displays Rich Text Format (RTF) documents stored on your device. It does one job and stays out of your way:
- Private by design. The conversion happens on your device. Your documents are never sent to an external service, which also means you can read RTF files in airplane mode.
- No data collection. The app collects no data and shares nothing with third parties, as declared in its Google Play data safety section.
- Ad-free. No banners and no interruptions while you read.
- Small and quick. A tiny footprint and fast start-up. It is a viewer, not a full word processor.
One current limitation: embedded images in RTF documents are not converted.
What’s new in this release
- Target SDK raised to Android 17 (API 37)
Powered by ScroogeXHTML
Under the hood, Tiny RTF Viewer uses the ScroogeXHTML RTF Converter, the same engine we develop for converting RTF to XHTML/HTML in Delphi and Java applications. The app renders documents with it directly on your device.
If you build software that needs reliable RTF conversion, take a look at the converter at www.scroogexhtml.com.
